Large Item Pickup

Large, bulky items will be picked up on Tuesdays with your regular garbage.  All items must be able to picked up by two men.  Acceptable items include furniture, mattresses, carpeting (rolls can be no longer than 4′), doors, windows, and other house-hold items that will not fit in your can.  Unacceptable items include building refuse from demolition, construction or remodeling, household appliances, tires, automotive and marine batteries, and other hazardous materials.  Please place the large items on the curb no earlier than 1-2 days before the scheduled pick-up date.  Any item not pick up on Tuesday is considered unacceptable and the homeowner must arrange for disposal.

Yard Waste Pick-up is Tuesday morning April – November.

Lawn and Leaf bags are available at City Hall: 1 bundle (5 bags per bundle) is $4.50.

Put leaves and yard waste into paper landscape bags, or in a container for yard waste. Do not put leaves or yard waste in plastic bags or unapproved containers. Place on the terrace Monday night. Larger yard waste (bushes, trees, limbs, etc.) does not need to be in a container but should be cut into approximately 4 foot long pieces and set to the curb no earlier than 1-2 days before Monday.

The City will chip brush and branches on Mondays, April through November. The City can not chip anything that has a root ball attached.  If a contractor maintains your yard or does tree trimming/removal, the contractor is responsible for all clean-up and removal of yard waste.
